British Food ブリティッシュ・フード
Hello everyone – Rebecca here!
So as you may know I went back to the U.K for a quick visit during the Obon holiday. It was a short trip and so my family and I decided to just stay home, relax and eat a lot of food. British food has a very bad reputation around the world but I’m not sure why. We have a lot of delicious food and I always look forward to eating it when I visit home.
Here are my ‘Top 3 British Foods’ that I think you should try!
3. Sunday Lunch
Yes, we usually eat this on Sunday around 1pm. Most families eat some kind of meat such as beef, pork or chicken, and cook potatoes and vegetables to go with it. Then we usually add a gravy (meat) sauce on the top and eat the whole lot. This is probably why many people relax on Sunday afternoons and take a nap.
2. Chips and Curry Sauce
Fish and chips is the most famous British food but for me I love chips with curry sauce. I know it isn’t very healthy and so I only eat it once or twice a year when I visit home. The curry sauce isn’t spicy but it is creamy and rich which really suits the salt and vinegar on the chips!
1. An English Breakfast
This is my favourite food from home and my dad always cooks it for me. There are many variations but people usually eat bacon, sausage, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms toast and tea. Most people eat this at the weekend so they have lots of energy for the day. It isn’t very healthy but it tastes so good and I really miss it when I’m in Japan.
